Unfinished Business

Every month, businesses in the city in which I work have social networking events at certain locations of members of the County's Chamber of Commerce. Last week, the business I work for held the event at our office and a local pastor, whom I just met recently at an unfortunate event, was in attendance. He shook my hand and asked me how I was after I had witnessed the aftermath of a very saddening car accident, which he also witnessed.
This gentlemen, who watched the accident unfold, stated that he had made a very strong sermon on the issue of luggage and how quickly life can change in an instant. He also stated that the altar was full after the sermon, which made my heart smile.
When you leave your home in the morning, do you think about the possibility of a life-changing event? What do you think about when you pass by a car wreck? I could only hope that you frequently consider your relationship with Christ every morning after you wake up and every night before you fall asleep. I was guilty of not doing either until witnessing what I did that afternoon.
What do you think would happen if you didn't make it home tonight? Would you go to heaven or hell? I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say we think about that often, if not everyday. If you knew you weren't saved, would you reconsider that movie you watched last night or the pure, seething hatred you hold against that person?
If you knew you were saved and going to heaven, would you tell your mom that you love her one more time? Would go see that friend for the first time in a long while? Who would you tell about Jesus?
A lot of people pass away everyday with unfinished business, good or bad. What if YOU have unfinished business? If you're reading this, which I hope you are doing so while sitting down, will you take a moment to assess your life?
If you're saved, don't worry about anything that is to come. “Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:1-2)
If you're not sure you are saved, let these two verses resonate with you: “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16); “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4).
Take Jesus by the hand in faith and believe in Him. Stay safe friends and God bless you.
